Human personality is complex and a number of theories have been proposed to explain, understand and interpret the same. And the importance of understanding ones personality lies in the fact that, as one understands more about himself/herself, the better you are to manage yourself as well as others. Of these various theories, one that is very widely used and has been the basis of many excellent personality measurement instruments, such as MBTI, is Carl Jung theory. Jung’s model of personality, and his classification of personalities takes into consideration both the conscious and unconscious aspects of the mind. According to Jung’s theory, human personality could be classified people into 16 different types – which is derived by combining 4 physiological functions, namely,
Extroversion(E) / Introversion (I);
Sensing(S) / Intuition(N);
Thinking (T) / Feeling (F);
Judging (J) / Perceiving (P);
